Darshaneeya Kshetra of God Dattatreya

Vallabh Dinkarbhatt Pujari

Ved Mu Shri Vallabh Dinkar Bhatt Pujari is an ancestral Hereditary Priest of Nirgun Math, i.e., Shri Dattatreya Temple, a Shree Kshetra located in Ganagapur, Kalaburagi (formerly Gulbarga) District, in the northern part of Karnataka.

He became the priest by the virtue of him belonging to a family of descendants called “Bhaskara Brahmana” detailed in Chapter No. 38 of Guru Charitra, a holy book. Bhaskara Brahmana was the one who fed 4000 people in Ganagapur during the period when food grains were at scarce, and what were available fulfilled only a few of stomachs. By looking at his devotion, Shri Nrusimha Saraswati while ending his Avatar told his family to continue the Trikaal Pooja and he assured that he will be staying in the Nirgun Paduka forever.

The priest’s duty is for all Shri Nrusimha Saraswati related activities including those of the said Mutt/ Temple in Ganagapur and such a divine duty was conferred on him and his family by none other than the Muzarai Department of the then Nizam Government, later to which it is under the aegis of Government of Karnataka when Gulbarga was brought within the confines of Karnataka State from the erstwhile Hyderabad.

Shri Vallabh Pujari has acquired all necessary Vedic learnings from his Vedic Guru, Shri Ved Mu Kai Gopal Bhat Sharma of Gokarna, to complete Pooja rituals. He learnt Astrology from his uncle, Shri Deepak Bhat Pujari of Ganagapur.

In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in MBA (Finance) and he is also a distinguished SAP Certified Consultant from Germany AG and he has over 7 years’ experience as a SAP Consultant. Even after having such an illustrious corporate experience, he decided to continue his sublime hereditary duties aimed at service towards God.

Shree kshetra Ganagapur Dattatreya temple is a very holy place and rich in culture, tradition which is followed by many people around the world as Guru Sthanam.

Reason behind worshipping Guru Dattatreya is, if you want to follow Vishnu tradition you will be going to Vishnu temples, if you want to follow Shankara you will be following Shiva temples, But if you follow Guru Dattatreya you will be following everyone i.e. Bramha, Vishnu and Maheshwara i.e. complete universe (Refer Guru Charitra Chapter no: 4 where God Dattatreya born).

Shree Guru Charitra was first written by Shree Gangadhara Saraswati in Marathi language. The eminent scholar L.R. Pangarkar says that the first two incarnations of God Dattatreya, Shree Shreepada Shrivallabha and Shree Narasimha Saraswati, the two protagonists of the immortal work, had flourished in the 14th and 15th centuries A.D. The original text recount, in 53 chapters, the life and teachings of the two incarnations in about 7000 verses. In the late nineteenth century, Shree Vasudevananda Saraswati, a famous saint of the Dattatreya tradition, translated the work in Sanskrit verses of equal number.

Annadan Madhukari Bhiksha

Madhukari Bhiksha or Annadan Seva is one of the significant seva performed at Shri Kshetra Ganagapur. The word “Madhukari“ is termed as Bhikshatana , sacred tradition followed in Hinduism or Sanatana dharma in practice since ages by monks, Brahmacharis, Yogis, sadhus and Satpurushas. Bhiksha has got most significance in Avadhoota, Natha, Datta Yogic, and Sanyasa Sampradayas. It is even mentioned in Shri Guru Charitra that Shri Narasimha Saraswati keeps wandering, seeking Bhiksha and blessing through their guidance by enlightening to his devotees / followers from place to place.

Homa / Havan

Maha Naivedya is one of the kind seva who knows the importance if he/she is regular visitor to Ganagapur and abide follower of Shree Guru Dattatreya.

Since when swamy kept his Nirgun Paduka in "Nirgun Math" and ended his holy avatar of Shri Narasimha Saraswati every day Maha Naivedya is being taken care from Bhaskar Brahman Lineage (Vamshastha) as per Guru Charitra chapter No 38 which are priests of Nirgun Math in Ganagapur.

Since 16th Century till to date not even a single day has been missed of this Maha Naivedya even at tough times and adverse situations also even when whole world was disturbed due to the COVID-19.

Also this puja is much more beneficial in month of sawan and on Pradosh days or Shivaratri days.
